Neal Adams, originally from London, England, has spent the last five years painting and living in Bali, Indonesia. His entire life, his only dream was that of a painter. While in the UK Neal painted as much as possible for someone with a full time job; on weekends he sold his works in public art markets. Success there made him crave the full time life of a painter. Thus, he decided living in the tropics would be the perfect place for the transition into his new life without distractions away from his art.

After a few years of refining in Bali, Neal began working with new mediums. He took gold and silver leaf and began developing layering techniques with acrylic. Many people have used precious metals with painting, (most famously Gustav Klimt), yet this has always been as a decorative effect. Often it is used in religious and iconic paintings by the artists of various cultures. Neal had another intent that gave him what every painter in history prays for and rarely finds. Neal Adams had discovered something that had yet to be done by another painter. He had created backlighting with gold and silver layering.

When looking at his art one is given the impression that the sun is behind a cloud or illuminating a mist directly behind the subject matter. One patron claimed,

"This is what trees look like in Heaven."
